Free Activities for the Kids!

on March 16, 2012

The Cerritos Library has a “glue and go” craft for kids today.  You will have two opportunities to go–11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  It is usually held in the Art Studio in the Children’s library.  Registration is not required so it is open to everyone.

The library is also showing a screening of “Real Steel” starring Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, at 6:30 p.m. tonight.  FREE!

Tomorrow (Saturday, March 17) is St. Patrick’s Day…why not do something “green”?!   The City of Lakewood is holding an “Earth Walk” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It is an opportunity for both kids and adults alike to experience earth-friendly activities, such as planting a seed, visiting a reptile station, learning about recycling, and even roasting marshmallows.  This event sounds both fun and educational!  Best of all, it’s FREE! It is being held at Monte Verde Park, 4626 N. Shadeway Road, Lakewood, CA.  Activities will move into the S. Mark Taper Lodge or under canopies if there’s rain.

If you don’t want to risk getting soaked, there are some Easter activities happening at the nearby malls as well.  At Cerritos mall, you can participate in their Easter Eggs-travaganza, which includes crafts and a show with Professor Einstein bunny.  It is taking place at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Originally tickets were $5, but it looks like they are now FREE!  Please contact Guest Services (562) 860-9868 to see if tickets are still available.  At Lakewood mall, there will be a meet-n-greet with the Easter bunny as well as an egg decorating craft from 10 a.m. til noon.

Have a nice weekend!
