Preschool Fair

on May 25, 2012

MOMS Club of Lakewood, CA (MOMS) will host its first annual Preschool Fair on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the community room at San Martin Park (5231 Ocana Avenue, Lakewood, CA 90712). Free and open to the public, the fair is a community event that will provide a forum for parents of young children to receive information about area preschools, ask questions of school representatives, and sign up for tours. Kids will also be able to enjoy crafts and face painting. “Our organization hosts community service activities each year,” stated Lisa Klimas, stay-at-home mom and current MOMS Club of Lakewood President. “Many of our members have children who are preschool age or younger, and are in the process of deciding on preschools. Considering the large number of preschool options available in our community and the time and energy it takes to research them, we felt it would be helpful for both our members and the public to offer a forum for parents to receive information on several local schools at one time.” As the first preschool fair of its kind to be held in the Greater Lakewood Area, MOMS has secured several preschools. Some of the many schools attending are: ABC Parent Education Preschool, Bellflower Unified School District, Bethany Lutheran Preschool, Cerritos Learning Tree Pre-School, Concordia Lutheran School, First Steps Christian Pre-School, Golden West Preschool, Long Beach City College Child Development Center, Long Beach Day Nursery, Montessori School Eureka, Practical Parent Talk, St. Timothy Lutheran School, and Twain Child Development Center. MOMS recognizes that once you have decided your child is ready, choosing the right preschool can seem daunting. It is important to weigh each aspect of the preschool and make a decision that is good for you and your child. MOMS hopes that this fair will assist families in understanding their options, in what is known as the first step in a child’s academic journey.
