December 1st?!!

Tomorrow is December 1st already!  Can you believe it?!  Where has the year gone?  Here is a rundown of all the things the first has to offer:

• Reserve tickets for Free Day at the Huntington Library in San Marino.   Tickets will be available starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow and most of the tickets are gone within minutes seconds.  Good luck!
• Register for programs and story times at Cerritos Library.
• Usually it’s FREE day at the La Habra Children’s museum but due to a special event, Breakfast with Santa, it has been moved to the following Saturday, December 8.
• Free Kids workshop at Home Depot.  Tomorrow your child can build a picture frame.
• Victorian Christmas at the Banning Museum: Christmas festival featuring Victorian period entertainment , self-guided tours of the Museum, refreshments, children’s crafts, and a visit from jolly St. Nick!  Admission is FREE!
• Shop the Splendid Mens & Kids warehouse sale.

Free Craft for the Kids!

The Cerritos Library has a “glue and go” holiday craft for kids today.  You will have two opportunities to go–11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  It will be held in the Art Studio in the Children’s library.  Registration is not required so it is open to everyone.

My Favorite Sample Sales

 

Splendid and Ella Moss are having another warehouse sale this weekend except it’s only for Men and Kids merchandise.  I guess they sold out of all the women’s stuff at their last sale. Well, it is the holiday season so you can go buy stuff for other people.  I don’t know how much the men’s stuff was because I never paid attention but the kids prices are listed below.

Splendid/Ella Moss kids: leggings $5, everything else $15

Hudson Jeans was also scheduled to have a sample sale this weekend but they have postponed it due to inclement weather.  Check out my last post on their sample sale.

 

PDA Parent’s Night Out

Are your kids driving you nuts yet? or do you need a date night?  Well, this Saturday, November 24 is Parent’s night out at the PDA.
Drop your kids off from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm and enjoy a night out!   They will receive two pieces of pizza and a drink and play in the gym all night long.

Prices:  $15 per child/ $10 sibling/family rate = $40, if on list and paid by 3 pm Saturday.

Price at the door: $20 for 1st child/ $15 sibling.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  What’s that you say?  No, it’s not the first day of school.  It’s time again for the Splendid/Ella Moss warehouse sale!  This posting is for all you mommies out there. Splendid and Ella Moss are having their warehouse sale this weekend. If you’re not familiar with these brands, they can be categorized as high end sportswear. Everything is very casual but the fabrics are super duper soft and luxurious. They are perfect for moms. The average retail for a top is about $50 and up at a department store but at the sale, it’s $20. This is how some of the items were priced at the last sale in June.  It was a mad house and the line to pay by credit card was about an hour long but I think it was worth it because I’m worth it. (ha…I couldn’t resist)

If you want to alleviate some guilt for shopping, buy something for your kids. They have kids and men’s clothing as well. There are no dressing rooms so plan on pulling stuff over what you’re wearing. Parking is $10 in the building or there is meter parking, which is $4 an hour.

Basketball Registration this weekend!!

Registration begins on Saturday, November 3 for the City of Cerritos youth basketball league at the Cerritos Sports Complex from 10 am to 4 pm if you are a resident and again on November 7 from 4 pm to 8 pm.  For non-residents, registration begins on November 10.  If this is your first time signing up, bring a hat and a chair and be prepared to stand in a long a** line!  Based on my own experience, the wait time is about an hour or more.  The fee is $45 and you get a jersey and a trophy at the end of the season.  The kids are divided by birth year so kids born in 2007 will be entering Rookie I and so forth.  The Cerritos Sports Complex is located at 19900 Bloomfield Ave., Cerritos.  See you in line!

Today is also the first day to register for programs and story times at Cerritos Library.

Also just a reminder that this Saturday is FREE day at the La Habra Children’s museum and the new exhibit is Dinosaurs.  It’s also FREE (Sun)day at the Bowers museum in Santa Ana.

There is also a free Kids workshop at Home Depot.  On Saturday, your child can build a Turkey Napkin holder.
